EPF ASSOCIATION PROFILE
The European Press Federation (EPF) was founded in 2006 by experienced press professionals, journalists and experts in the field and has developed in a short period of time into an association representing the interests and careers of a large number of members. The EPF represents the occupational, legal and social interests of people responsible for PR, press photographers, representatives of the press and journalists against third parties.

European Press Federation

Journalists and representatives of press in Europe

The EPF is mainly represented by full and part time journalists, experts in the communication sector and media representatives. This includes editors, (freelance) press photographers and feature journalists, spokesmen, publishers, directors, authors, camera people, film critics and radio reporters. Furthermore, EPF is supported by members who are active as owners or managers of TV production companies, news and press agencies, radio senders as well as journalism offices dealing with type, image, sound and internet. This applies for both those with regular employment as well as part-time and freelance representatives of the media.

In this relation

• the association promotes media diversity and the freedom of the press
• the association strives to ensure uninhibited professionalism and career access
• the association offers and mediates career opportunities
• the association supports in publishing and communication work
• the association dedicates itself to a cross-frontier cooperation
• the association informs on the functions of European institutions
• the association facilitates the access to European information sources for its members

As a service orientated career and branch representative, the EPF is developing amongst other things press portals, journalistic databases, recommendations for start-ups, career models and contract specimens. A diversity of consultation services, a PDF library, trade literature, working materials, job offers, homepages, the legitimate issue of legally valid press cards, media supply and much more complete our considerable service offer. The EPF is an innovator, provider of ideas and know-how pools for representatives of the media.

Independent protection of interests

The association promotes journalistic activities, cultivates international contacts within the media and press sectors and understands itself to be a non-materialistic, internationally active and neutral career association, independent of trade unions. This means:

• The EPF is free from politics, trade unions or employers’ associations
• The EPF is independent of publishers, organisations or stakeholders

Conclusion: especially common goals for journalists and representatives of the media as well as publishing and communication works are promoted by the EPF. Many co-operations with other (European) similar associations and the economy will be used to this goal, just as the media co-operations with national and international press associations.
